One thing I like working at Kohl’s on the weekend is the fact we can wear jeans and any shirt except for graphic tees. Because VA weather in October is bipolar and some days it gets hot and other days are cold. That’s why now I’m feeling a little sick because of this weather. I wanted to share a little bit of what I usually wear on the weekends. My style is very unique and simple. I don’t always follow the fashion trend out here just because I like my own style and I’m very content with that. Today I am wearing a black and pink hoodie I got from Rainbow Shops in Williamsburg, VA a couple of weeks ago that has Faith on the front and back as well.
I love inspirational hoodies and shirts because it makes me feel good. My outfit costs less than $80 and sometimes you have to learn how to shop smart without going over your budget!
My high top converses came from Kohl’s when they had the 35 percent off for associate shop. I ended up paying probably less than thirty dollars for them. I love these shoes because of the colors and the fact that these are my very first high-tops with converses. All my other ones are low tops. The jeans I had for years and years and believe it or not, they still fit! LOL. I didn’t put the jewelry to go along with it, but I will be wearing silver hoop earrings and no necklace only because of how the neck is set up on the hoodie.

I don’t ever want to limit myself on the number of obsessions I decide to share on my blog posts because they will vary. So today in this new blog post I have another obsession and a product review all at the same time.
Ever since I owned a cell phone, I always had a heavy addiction to phone cases. Over the years, I had about 12 cases for each phone! I know that sounds really crazy, but that was the honest truth! They were different ones from Disney to blinged out ones to water proof cases. But now that I have a new I phone, I only have three cases for this one. I just recently changed my phone case and put on the new army print Military Grade phone case which I love because it makes my phone bigger than it already is. I love the way it looks and feel on my phone and the fact it has a strap is even better!
Trust me, this is my last phone case! I can’t continue wasting money on new phone cases when I know good and well I can’t wear all of them. LOL. I have three so I can rotate whenever I feel like it. Now that I have a better I Phone, I just love using the picture effects and portrait mode for my pictures. They look very professional. So no more phone cases for me. The one I just recently purchased on Amazon I truly love!
I started making bracelets several years ago and I definitely don’t regret it at all! It’s a great therapeutic way to regain your focus and stress. Michael’s has everything when it comes to jewelry making! I like to go when they have coupons and sales. The current sale that is going on is 3 for $9.99 for ALL beads! Now if you are a bead addict like me, then you know this is a great sale! LOL! I had a very hard time deciding what three colors I should get to make more bracelets, but the sale ends on November 2nd, so I definitely will be going back to buy other colors and styles especially with my coupon I have to save money!
I saw an angel pattern I really love so I decided to get a strand of that and other purple beads to blend in when I make about two or three bracelets. Awesome huh? I make Breast Cancer bracelets as well in honor of my grandmother who passed away from breast cancer back in 2012.
I have made earrings as well, but bracelets I enjoy making more. The breast cancer bracelet is called “The Catherine Britton Breast Cancer Bracelet” One day I want to sell 1k and donate half to the local breast cancer foundation. I really want to partner with a local chapter or an event where I can sell my customized bracelet. I will have a video in the next few posts of me making a bracelet that will be uploaded to my You Tube page as well. Stay tuned!

How many of you know the importance of having a clear and hydrating skin? I have tried over the years various of face cleanser products since I have sensitive and dry skin. I tried Clean N Clear, but it left my face feeling tight and dry and I think my face was a little allergic to it. I just decided not to use any cleansers on my face for awhile and just wash my face with warm water to see how it does. Then I started using dove beauty bar to wash my face some mornings and every night especially when I wear make up.
I haven’t tried the Hydrating cleanser, but I will in the near future. This facial wash goes on really smooth and it leaves my face feeling moist and hydrated. I can definitely feel the difference between the clean and clear brand and CeraVe brand. I definitely recommend this brand if you are looking for a good facial wash to use. We finally have a winner!
I definitely wanted to try this type of dove soap since I’m always using the pink one and the original. I grew up using Dove soap ever since I was an infant. It is so good for your skin and it smells really good! Now the Dove exfoliating soap smells really good too and it leaves your skin feeling renewed! It even makes my bathroom smell good! I will highly recommend any Dove products. When it gets really cold, your body gets a little dehydrated and it requires extra moisture on your skin.
Another product I’ve been using for awhile is Nivea. Actually my dad introduced me to that brand because other lotions I was using wasn’t giving me enough moisture to my body. I have been using Nivea products for about two years now and I love every moment of moisturizing my skin, hand and feet.
This 48-hour body lotion is really good and I like the fact it has Shea butter in it. I use Shea butter on my hair as well.
Looking for a reliable hand creme? Nivea Creme does wonders for your hands! Especially in the winter months, it gets the job done. It’s made small so you can keep it in your car or purse.
Nivea Soft smells AMAZING and I enjoy smelling this scent every morning. The big jar I use on my feet every morning along with Vaseline and Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa foot cream. Sometimes I will use it on my skin as well. The tube I use just on my hands and I keep that in my purse and on my desk at work. I lotion my hands every time I wash my hands so the moisture doesn’t disappear throughout the day. You can purchase these products at Wal-Mart, any drug store or even Target. Oh yeah, Amazon carries them as well!

I’ve always been fascinated with taking pictures and editing them; more like me taking ten million selfies and photos of myself! LOL. A couple of years ago, I saw a frog on the side of my house and back then I had an Android Samsung Galaxy and decided to take a picture of it. I am very fascinated with taking unique and nature pictures as well as pictures of flowers.

Sometimes finding the right motivation can be hard. For instance, getting up in the morning is one of the hardest for me. But what get me motivated is knowing that I have new opportunities to look out for everyday. It’s either get up or don’t go to work (I can’t afford to loose money) There has to be some great tools you use to motivate yourself. Here are five ways you can stay motivated!
Play Your favorite music on your phone or on the radio. Music can be great therapy when you feel like you are down in the dumps or you just don’t feel like doing anything. If you have planned your goals for the rest of the year, then maybe getting through your day would be some quick tunes in your ear. What is your favorite song that you have on repeat? (I know you have about a few, because I surely do!)
Write down the reason why you started in the first place! If you have a dream or a goal that you are trying to achieve, then ask yourself what made you start? Was it because you are a single mother with kids and you want them to become better than you or you have a whole lot of people counting on you? Whatever it is, write it down, meditate on it for a few minutes and get to work!
Your haters! Of course they should motivate you because they are the ones who talk down on you and they definitely don’t want to see you prosper in life. So proving them wrong is great motivation! Don’t give up and give them the benefit of the doubt!
Self-encouragement. When no one else is rooting for you or encouraging you, then it’s your job to motivate your own self. Not everyone will do that, so it’s very important that the only person you rely on is yourself.
Last, but not least reward yourself! After all of the hard work that you have put into the day of achieving all of your goals and building networking relationships with other business-minded people, it’s time to relax, pump the brakes and treat yourself to something nice. After all, you deserve it!
Kelo ‘Countitup’ is an independent artist from Mississippi who has a passion for the music world. He started his music career after losing loved ones to gun violence and cancer. Kelo got bit by the music bug by the age of ten where he began creating music. It wasn’t before long that him and his brother invested in a studio where he created his first three series underground mix tape. His new single ‘I Needa Bag’ is based off of struggles and his rise to success.
TRGB MEDIA: I WAS READING YOUR BIO AND SAW THAT YOU STARTED YOUR MUSIC CAREER AFTER LOSING LOVED ONES TO GUN VIOLENCE AND CANCER.
KELO: When I was six, my uncle got murdered by his fiancé. It’s crazy because every time I see them they are smiling and in love. You don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. Me and my little brother used to play on this teddy bear that my grandma got us for Christmas. It was a hip hop teddy bear and when you squeeze it, it records up to 30 seconds. We would go back in forth playing rapping not thinking what was going to come out behind all of it.
TRGB MEDIA: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THIS MUSIC INDUSTRY?
KELO: I have been recording music professionally for twelve years. But when it comes down to major platforms, this is my first year. I’m a newbie when it comes down to the world-wide.
TRGB MEDIA: WITH YOUR NEW SINGLE, ‘I NEEDA BAG,’ WILL THAT BE APART OF AN EP OR ALBUM?
KELO:I just can’t talk too much about what I’m going to put on the EP because I haven’t really set a title for it yet. I want to go hard and give them all new music; like when I drop my EP, I don’t want nothing old on it.
TRGB MEDIA: DO YOU THINK THE MUSIC IN TODAY’S GENERATION IS GETTING BETTER OR WORSE AS FAR AS LYRICS, SOUNDS AND BEATS?
KELO: I like the new vibe, but I’m stuck on old school. Some old school just depends on the artist. I can listen to 2-PAC all day and Snoop Dogg. The wave wasn’t the trend back then. I even listen to blues and gospel; I’m all over the place.
TRGB MEDIA: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR MUSIC AND OTHERS?
KELO:When you get through listening to my music, it’s all positive vibes. Majority of my music is motivation.
TRGB MEDIA: AS FAR AS DEFINING MUSIC, WHAT DOES MUSIC MEAN TO YOU?
KELO:Music means everything. Music helped me through a lot of stuff. I don’t know how I got through a lot of stuff without music. It is like air, you got to have it!
TRGB MEDIA: WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND ‘I NEEDA BAG’?
KELO:Man the song speaks for itself. When the music started getting professional and real things started going on, and real opportunities started opening up, like a lot of financial problems starts hitting. That’s definitely my motivation. I started perfecting my craft and pushing my brand. I sold three tracks back to back less than two weeks.
TRGB MEDIA: WHAT ARE SOME OF THE CHALLENGES YOU HAVE FACED SO FAR?
KELO: Number one, instrumental. You don’t want to know what it costs to get the instrumental rights, putting the right studio to go to and making sure you got a good engineer; you need a good engineer and whoever you got promoting your music, make sure they are legit because there are a lot of scams going around. You don’t want to loose money as an independent artist.
TRGB MEDIA: WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR 2019?
KELO: I expect to do at least two features with a celebrity; somebody in the industry. I plan to have my own tour going on, my EP dropping at the end of the year, that’s going to go crazy, I’m going to have a celebrity on that and I expect to go overseas by the end of the year.
TRGB MEDIA: ARE YOU PLANNING ON DOING ANY EVENTS WHEN YOUR PROJECT DROPS IN MISSISSIPPI?
KELO: I plan on doing a tour, but I don’t have a date yet. Also I will be doing a release party real soon.
TRGB MEDIA: WHAT’S NEXT FOR KELO?
KELO: First I’m dropping my video, ‘I Needa Bag,’ I got this new single called ‘Shot’ It has a little thug title of the song, but that’s not the concept. The concept of the song is you miss all the shots you don’t take.
Actress Taraji P. Henson just launched a new foundation called “The Boris Henson Foundation” in honor of her late father that passed away in 2006 due to liver cancer. But the main reason why Henson is doing this is to increase awareness for mental health among the black community.
Her father also suffered with mental health so Henson wanted to do something revolving around that. He was also a Vietnam veteran who suffered through various of things; being homeless was one of them. Henson named the foundation (BLHF) after her dad is because of his unconditional love. The foundation will launch a special fundraiser called “Taraji’s Boutique of Hope” which will be held on September 22nd in Beverly Hills. The goal of the fundraiser is to raise funds to provide resources to increase mental health support in urban schools.
A new show is coming to BET called Killer Curves: Bodies to Die for is produced by Lala Anthony. So many women in the industry has leveled up to certain expectations that having a phat butt and large breasts and thighs will make them look physically attractive and hot! Maybe in that case, but what about the health side affects or the after math years down the line? A lot of black women; especially on reality TV is getting butt injections, breast implants and even lip injections just to have that banging body. Personally I don’t think that is worth dying for.
K-Michelle who an R and B singer and a reality star on Love N Hip Hop Hollywood has had butt injections and has paid the price for it when she started getting sick and getting headaches all the time. “After I got my butt shots, I felt like I had confidence,” stated K. Michelle in an article on The Source.
She will be on Killer Curves: Bodies to Die for which airs tonight on BET at 10 pm EST.
